This series will be part of The Illusion of Reality exhibition, organized by Trevisan Art International. Four mini artworks, size 20 x 20 cm, will be on display in Bologna, Italy from November 30 until December 12, 2019. Artists from all over the world will participate with four works in different categories. The Sun in our head is inspired and dedicated to family members, friends and yet unknown people who are personally involved in mental health challenges. This series includes a personal walk in four different landscapes in which the Sun is central. As a metaphor for what is unchanging and will be forever. What does it mean when the sun is allowed to penetrate the landscape of the always fluent emotions of thoughts and feelings?
It was during my Summer holiday in California that I found inspiration for this new, created series. Walking during sunsets, I thought I had never seen the sky this full of beautiful soft pastels. And of course these "wonder and awe" moments were filled with contemplation, inspiration and conversation.
At the same time I felt my personal involvement with mental health issues. Through family, friends that kept my mind occupied in searching for answers, openness, but also in longing to bring comfort. I desired to make four artworks that referred to the sun as a metaphor for what would be unchanging and forever.
