I am Annemarie Marcinek, mixed media artist with a passion for color, shape and word.
I am also a Dr. Hauschka therapist/beautician, interior designer and colorist, but most of all I am a person with a deep desire for a connection with myself and the Inspirer within me.
My passions for color and shape have been decisive for painting. As an artist I am very aware of what colors and shapes communicate and what influence this has on people and their surroundings. Because I have a great desire to share my inspiration and impressions, I feel most at ease in this form of art. In this fashion I experience the best connection with the world around me, but also to inspire others and to connect with their uniqueness.
I find inspiration everywhere around me - in nature, in conversations with people or in studying insights and wisdoms. For me as an artist it is essential that inspiration comes to life within me. There must be a physical and spiritual connection in that which inspires me. An example of this is water. Water inspiration is an often returning theme in my work. As a person I love to be in the vicinity of water, particularly the ocean. The depths of color are endlessly inspiring. Spiritually water represents the connection that I experience with my Creator. The relation between the physical and the spiritual is present.
The same I can say for flowers. I have a great love for flowers; especially their colors have an enormous impact on my emotion, also the scent that is unique for each flower and their vulnerability which adds to their beauty.
In our uniqueness we all have our own color and scent. And equally we are as vulnerable and perishable as a flower.
To actually use my inspiration and start to paint, I need a personal connection with it. It needs to touch my emotion and speak to me personally.
Because my work is so closely connected with how I perceive, feel and experience things, most of my paintings intend to leave a symbolic message.
People who have bought my art experience it as light, encouraging and deep of intensity. Some draw hope and courage from it.
The depths of my impressions are revealed in a multitude of layers and colors.
By the intentional use of colors and shapes, my desire is to create an imagery language which stays as close as possible to the received inspiration. This process is predominantly intuitive.
I create my paintings mainly with acrylic paint on canvas, wooden panels and paper.
